The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Friday.
Times of Malta leads with MCAST finance manager and PN councillor Francine Farrugia, being accused of embezzling millions of euro from the educational institute to buy a property, cars and to go on a €113,000 spending spree at luxury department store Harrods.
It also gives prominence to an ex-Air Malta pilot claiming his signature was “falsified” on a €1.1 million settlement agreement with the airline.
The Malta Independent also leads with Farrugia facing charges of fraud, misappropriation and embezzlement.
It also features the government launching a month-long public consultation on its controversial planning reform bills following public backlash to the proposals.
In-Nazzjon leads with 48-year-old Filippino national Mayumi Santos Patacsil being jailed for life for stabbing her partner to death in 2021.
