The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Monday.

Times of Malta reports that the political parties in parliament have not started talks on the appointment of a new chief justice, even though the incumbent is set to retire. It also reports about a mechanic who has been hard at work modifying vehicles for disabled drivers.

The Malta Independent says that according to a Eurobarometer survey, the Maltese are the most open in the EU to allowing teachers to use AI in the classroom. In a second story on a second survey, the newspaper says 43% of the Maltese gamble weekly.

In-Nazzjon highlights the end of the church's Jubilee of Hope in Malta. It also reports that 220 church volunteers handed out 350 meals to needy people on Christmas Day.

l-orizzont quotes the mayor of Pembroke saying his council will work with all authorities to make a success of the White Rocks project. It also reports that a Greek man was accused of cultivating 34 cannabis plants.
