The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Friday.
Times of Malta leads with news that a woman whose left forearm had to be amputated after she was attacked by a dog during a trial adoption is accusing the authorities of “systemic failures” and demanding compensation.
The newspaper also reports that youngsters are racking up more debts with banks to buy a home, official statistics show.
The Malta Independent reports on record levels of tourist expenditure in the Maltese Islands, which in 2025 neared the €4 billion mark.
The newspaper also gives prominence to calls by the Insurance Association Malta, which on Thursday called for the introduction of average speed cameras and stiffer penalties for repeat offenders to thwart drivers from using Malta's roads as "race tracks".
