The top stories in Malta's newspapers

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Thursday.

Times of Malta leads with news that connectivity between Malta and Gozo will be bolstered with the addition of two newly commissioned passenger ferries, but the new vessels will only be in place in 2029.

The newspaper separately reports on the death of Paul Chetcuti Caruana, a Mosta doctor who, in 1977, received a letter bomb that failed to explode.

The Malta Independent also reports on the Gozo ferry investment, while in a separate piece, it reports on a court sitting which on Thursday heard how the husband of Mildred Azzopardi, the woman who was crushed to death between two cars in Valletta last year, remembers seeing his wife place two chairs into the luggage boot before blacking out.

In-Nazzjon publishes comments by PN's leader Alex Borg, who, on Wednesday, urged the EU to hold on to its strong principles and respect Malta's neutrality.

L-orizzont also reports about the Gozo ferry investment. It separately publishes an article assuring Microtek employees of a structured transition.
