The following are the main stories in Sunday's newspapers.
The Sunday Times of Malta leads with an article about heavy hail that rained down on Malta overnight on Saturday, blanketing parts of the country in ice.
The newspaper also reports that the authorities have opened multiple investigations into Malta’s national water polo team after insiders came forward claiming they witnessed alleged betting activity or overheard players discussing how it was carried out.
The Malta Independent on Sunday leads with comments by the Superintendent of Public Health, Professor Charmaine Gauci, who urged people to refocus on the scientific reality, warning that "it is far safer to have a day of mild discomfort than to risk the potentially severe consequences of influenza itself".
The newspaper also publishes comments from Kevin Azzopardi, the CEO of the authority which regulates sport in Malta, who said there has been a "major surge" in the number of positive doping tests coming from Maltese sport in recent weeks.
