The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.

Times of Malta features an interview with Francesca Borg, the mother of six-year-old Zaylen who tragically died in a pool on Sunday. The family speak out in response to insensitive comments following the tragedy and call for improved safety measures for pools.

The newspaper also gives prominence to recently announced PN leadership candidate Alex Borg promising a “friendly” campaign for the Nationalist Party’s top job.

The Malta Independent leads with Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon calling for a “culture change” on alcohol consumption as public consultation on a new alcohol policy is opened.
