The top stories in Malta's newspapers

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.  

Times of Malta gives prominence to a report revealiong that two-fifths of the highest earners have lost money to online scams.  

The paper also features a report on the Msida flyover, which Transport Minister Chris Bonett has pledged will be completed by the end of the year.  

The Malta Independent leads with four men accused of involvement in the cannabis heist from an armed forces barracks being granted bail. 

It also features news that government debt has risen by €866 million compared to last year, reaching €10.8 billion.  

l-orizzont leads with news that from August, workers will be able to request information on future earnings in line with an EU directive.

The paper also features Prime Minister Robert Abela calling for more urgent talks on migration at a European Council meeting.  

In-Nazzjon also reports on rising government debt, which it says equated to increases of €2.4 million per day, and the four suspects in the barracks heist being granted bail.  

It also features archbishop Charles Scicluna calling for workers’ rights and affordable housing to be addressed in the Malta Vision 2050 government plan.
