The top stories in Malta's newspapers

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Tuesday.

Times of Malta reports that Malta is seeking foreign support for a permanent solution to the stricken Russian tanker drifting close to the island.  It also says that according to a new report, indoor crime now accounts for a third of offences. 

The Malta Independent says the prime minister wants a permanent solution regarding the damaged Russian tanker drifting off Malta. It also reports that an agreement has been reached for Manoel Island and Fort Tigne' to be returned to the government.

l-orizzont focuses on a Cabinet meeting held at a Civil Protection facility and quotes the prime minister saying Malta is prepared 'for any eventuality'. It also reports the agreement with Midi to end the empheteutical grant of Manoel Island and Fort Tigne'.

In-Nazzjon leads with a document issued by the Chamber of Commerce calling for a revamp of the tourism industry focused on higher added value.  It also reports that Alex Borg has been making concrete proposals to help the people, including a reduction of VAT on restaurant services.
