The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Monday.

Times of Malta reports that retailers have complained of an increase in shipping costs, pushing up consumer prices, particularly for electronics. It also reports that a lawyer suggested a €700 payment linked to a meeting with the government's visa agency could 'solve' an Iranian woman's rejected bid for a residence permit.

The Malta Independent says Iran has reacted to an ultimatum by Donald Trump by warning that it would hit power and desalination plants.

l-orizzont gives prominence to Robert Abela's remarks on Sunday about freedom and neutrality. It also reports how a badly damaged and abandoned Russian tanker is to be towed to Libya, 

In-Nazzjon highlights promises by PN leader Alex Borg that a future PN government would strengthen support for families, including a Child Trust Fund.  It also reports that Malta is at the bottom on an EU scoreboard on renewable energy.
