These are the leading stories making headlines in local newspapers this Tuesday. 

Times of Malta reports how the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran spread across the Middle East and beyond, with Lebanon's Hezbollah entering the fray, and a British air base in Cyprus was targeted. 

The same newspaper also reports how a new law will allow terminally ill patients to make decisions about the care they want to refuse if they are unconscious. The legally binding "living will" will need to be authorised by a notary in order to be in force. 

The Malta Independent leads with Prime Minister Robert Abela saying that Malta would remain "focused and resilient" in the face of escalating conflict in the Middle East and the Arab Gulf region. 

It also highlights how a bill proposing constitutional amendments to introduce an anti-deadlock mechanism for the appointment of Malta's next Chief Justice was tabled in Parliament.
