Good morning. These are the leading stories in local newspapers this Wednesday. 

The Times of Malta leads with news that a court had ordered deputy police commissioner Silvio Valletta off the Daphne Caruana Galizia murder investigation.

In a secondary story, the newspaper cites MEPs who have urged EU member states to take action to ensure there is no repeat of migrant stand-off situations such as that with the MV Aquarius. 

The Malta Independent leads with news of the MV Aquarius convoy heading to Spain, noting that another boat with more than 900 migrants is nearing Sicily. 

The newspaper also highlights NGO concerns about a planning proposal to build a gas and electric vehicle station on ODZ land. 

Malta Today highlights the court ruling for deputy PC Silvio Valletta to be taken off the Caruana Galizia murder investigation, as well as the death of 12 migrants at sea after their boat was shipwrecked off the Libyan coast.

L-Orizzont leads with news of the US-North Korea summit, with the paper quoting ex-foreign minister George Vella as saying both Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un left Singapore as "victors". 

In-Nazzjon reports that patients at Mater Dei Hospital were left in wards with battery-less defibrillators.
