The story of the cyclist killed on Friday morning dominated the main stories of Saturday's newspapers:

Times of Malta cites a cycling lobby group underlining the lack of road safety in Malta after a Serbian cyclist was killed at the new Kappara junction. It also quotes the MFSA saying that Seyed Ali Sadr Hasheminejad’s arrest in the US made Pilatus Bank “fall foul of a myriad of provisions”.

L-orizzont quotes a regular bicycle rider saying the intolerance shown by drivers in our roads was putting the lives of cyclists in danger. It also interviews Fr Dionysius Mintoff after a monument in memory of his brother Dom Mintoff was inaugurated on Castille Square.

The Malta Independent reports a visiting delegation of MEPs saying that they were even more concerned about Malta's rule of law after a meeting with political parties.

In-Nazzjon says milk had been eliminated from the menu at the Attard primary school. The main picture shows Archbishop Charles Scicluna handing a ball to a child as the World Cup kick-off looms.
