The following are the top stories on Malta's Sunday newspapers.

The Sunday Times of Malta says the American University of Malta is 'in distress'. It has too few students and is firing staff. 

The Malta Independent on Sunday focuses on how the 'gloves have come off' ahead of a rule of law debate on Malta in the European Parliament.

MaltaToday says a contracts audit that led to the firing of PBS CEO John Bundy could go to the National Audit Office and the police. 

Il-Mument focuses on Azeri involvement in Malta-based Pilatus Bank. It also reports how early voting has taken place for the election of the PN's deputy leaders. The election proper is on Saturday.

Illum publishes the FIAU findings and conclusions on Pilatus Bank.

It-Torċa reports that security has been beefed up at the harbours to counter contraband. 

KullĦadd says PN leader Adrian Delia commissioned an opinion survey to compare it with one issued recently by It-Torċa, and it showed the same results.
