Timesofmalta.com will be streaming live the three-hour hearing of Tonio Borg before MEPs. The hearing starts at 3 p.m.

Dr Borg is facing opposition especially from liberals about his views on abortion, gay rights and divorce.

Ivan Camilleri, reporting from Brussels, says that lobbying in the EP's corridors has continued but the Socialist Group is showing positive signs that it might be supporting Malta's nomination, tilting the balance in Dr Borg's favour.

The EPP - the EP's largest lobby group has already declared its support.
