Ten students from the Institute of Tourism Studies will be going in June to Sheraton Edinburgh in Scotland for a one-year placement - students taking the ITS' Diploma in Accommodation Management request placements in hotels abroad to gain international exposure.
Sheraton Edinburgh is part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc, one of the leading hotel and leisure companies in the world with 750 properties in more than 80 countries and 110,000 employees at its owned and managed properties.
In Malta, Starwood is represented by the Westin Dragonara Resort.
Starwood career opportunities include the Vita Futura graduate management programme whose aim is to attract, develop and retain talented individuals who will become the Starwood leaders of tomorrow.
The Westin Dragonara Resort has in fact nominated an internal candidate to join the programme.
The requirements for this programme are minimum graduate level, and one year's industry experience whilst being fluent in English and in an additional language.

The Westin also announced that Anne Marie Zammit Lupi was appointed the training manager of the Westin Turnberry Golf Resort in Scotland.
She joined the Westin Dragonara Resort in March, 2000. More such deployments from the Westin Dragonara Resort to other Starwood properties will take place in the future.
