Bank of Valletta has again renewed its financial support for the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association's annual MHRA Occupancy and Revenue Survey.
Tonio Depasquale, chief executive officer at Bank of Valletta, presented the sponsorship to Winston J. Zahra, president of the MHRA. Addressing the delegation from the MHRA, Mr Depasquale spoke about the importance of sectoral studies such as the MHRA Occupancy and Revenue Survey. These studies helped operators not only in their benchmarking exercises, he said, but also provided a basis for projections of future activity.
Mr Depasquale said the MHRA survey was a useful tool for Bank of Valletta and helped in the analysis of the tourism sector, a main pillar of the Maltese economy.
Mr Zahra said the association's objective in conducting the survey was to create a study from which members could benefit directly. The survey provides in-depth insight into the performance of the tourism sector and constitutes a platform for corrective action and the planning of future growth.
The presentation was also attended by Joe Tonna, executive head, corporate centre from Bank of Valletta, and Walter G. Cassar, senior vice-president and George Schembri, treasurer, of the MHRA.
