I sympathise completely with Anthony F. Aquilina for what happened to him because I have experienced the same situation but I was a bit luckier than he was.

After parking my car, which had been on the road only a few weeks, I found my front number plate in a mess but luckily the front bumper was not badly damaged. All it had were some minor cracks. But I was not all that lucky with my old vehicle.

Some individuals tend to stop their cars only when the tow bar hits the vehicle behind them. I tend to think that some just enjoy hitting the car behind, although I keep telling myself that this is not the case.

I can assure Mr Aquilina he is not the only one who avoids parking behind cars equipped with tow bars because I do so myself.

The authorities should do something about this problem. Lots of cars have their number plates dented and damaged. Tow bars should not protrude beyond the bumpers and, when this is not possible, the metal ball should be removed when not in use. Other ideas are most welcome.
