The visible trade gap for the first 11 months of this year widened by Lm19.3 million to Lm353.2 million, from Lm333.9 million in the same period last year, the National Statistics Office said.
The value of total imports for the January-November period increased by Lm18.3 million, or 1.6 per cent, to Lm1,193 million. Total exports dropped by Lm1 million in value to Lm839.8 million.
In November, the visible trade gap doubled its value over the same month of last year - from Lm22.8 million to Lm45.1 million.
Total imports reached Lm121.7 million in value, an increase of Lm19.8 million, or 19.4 per cent. The value of total exports fell by Lm2.5 million, or 3.2 per cent, to Lm76.6 million.
