Traffic accidents in last quarter of 2025 drop by 6.7 per cent
Most accidents were reported in the northern harbour district
The number of traffic accidents registered during the last three months of 2025 dropped by nearly 7 per cent, according to national data.
Figures published by the National Statistics Office on Wednesday show there were 3,694 accidentsbetween October and December - down by 6.7 per cent over the same period in 2024.
Most accidents were reported in the northern harbour district: 1,200 cases or 32.5 per cent of all accidents.
Road traffic casualties decreased by 10.8 per cent to 332 over the same period in 2024.
Grievously injured people amounted to 103, and consisted of 60 drivers, 12 passengers and 31 pedestrians/cyclists/others.
The injuries suffered by two drivers proved fatal. During this quarter, one less fatality was recorded when compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
