Traffic plan flop

Wouldn't it be just great if for once the "powers" in Malta take some urgent action and whoever has the last word give his consent to revert the traffic in Rabat as to what it was a few months ago.
When the whole thing started, we were informed that the traffic flow changes were only going to take a short time to see if they work or not.
Now, after some eight months, with an obvious disaster from the ingenious idea, numerous meetings held between the top brass, sleepless nights for residents at Kola Xara Street, Count Roger Street and St Mary Street, traffic hazards, especially for schoolchildren in Kola Xara Street (two way traffic, if you don't mind) and another hundred and one things, everything is still the same as when we first started.
Can't they just simply cut off the red tape surrounding this flop idea and let Borg Olivier Street be a two-way road for small cars and buses as it was, with the only change being heavy duty vehicles coming from Buskett and Dingli being diverted to pass through Nigret way to drive out of Rabat?
Maybe then, we residents of the three narrow streets mentioned above can walk and rest in a more peaceful way.
