Misco are offering courses in marketing, market research and customer care.

Market research

Market research involves understanding qualitative and quantitative research methods. All relevant areas will be discussed during this interactive and participative workshop.

The objective is to provide students with a basic introduction to concepts and techniques used in market research. Students will learn about the scope and benefits of market research, what information is required and how it is collected, qualitative and quantitative research, questionnaire design, sampling and fieldwork and data analysis.

This programme is designed to appeal to a number of different people, including users of research and people in marketing posts whose work requires knowledge of market research.

The course will be held tomorrow and on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and noon at the Misco Training Centre, 3rd floor, Regency House, Republic Street, Valletta.

Introduction to effective marketing

The importance of marketing in today's business environment is forever increasing and has become a key management function of any organisation. Many course participants want to know what marketing really is in practice, what are the essential concepts and definitions.

MISCO-TACK Training Europe recognised the importance of marketing in today's business community and designed a programme specifically for people who are new to the subject. These include marketing trainees and persons whose jobs involve close liaison with the marketing function (e.g. accountants and engineers).

The course, to be held over four afternoons, will teach students the basics on market research and market segmentation, product planning and development, marketing communication, pricing and distribution and marketing strategy and planning. The course will be held between September 15 and 18 between 2.30 and 5.30 p.m. at the Misco Training Centre

Customer care in action

Quality and customer service appear to be where many companies are focusing their training. The external customer has always been of major importance to any organisation; however, there has been a shift in thinking, whereby managers are looking at the importance of responding effectively to the internal customer as well. Today's consumer is looking for the special attention that is given by true customer service professionals.

Customer Care has already been run for various companies on an in-house basis as well as an open programme since it was adapted to a Maltese service situation at the beginning of 1989. It is a practical programme where students learn the necessary people skills they need to create the right impression and show customers that they really matter. Students will also learn how to communicate an attitude of quality service and customer service.

The programme is designed for all 'front line' staff who deal with clients on a regular basis. The course will be held between September 15 and 17 between 9 a.m. and noon at the Misco Training Centre.
