Young visitors to Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra will be given the opportunity to make their own clay pots and flatbread this coming Sunday, as part of a Heritage Malta open day.
Children aged 5 to 10 will be shown how to make their own Neolithic clay pots at 9.30am and again at 1.30pm.
Those aged 8-12 can try their hand at making flatbreat at 10.30am.
Heritage Malta also has activities planned for adult visitors: at 10am a curator will give a tour of the temples, while at noon osteologist and archaeologist Bernadette Mercieca Spiteri, will give a lecture titled ‘Travelling back in time with the Neolithic people’.
During the lecture, she will reveal details about research which is being done on ancient human bones that were discovered at the Xagħra Circle in Gozo.The temples will be open between 9am and 5pm, with the last admission at 4.30pm.
