Malta's High Commissioner in London, Michael Refalo and Mrs Refalo attended the unveiling ceremony of a Blue Plaque at 34, Belgrave Square, London, the former residence of Field Marshal Viscount Lord Gort.

Lord Gort, Governor of Malta during the latter part of WW II, was entrusted with bringing to Malta the George Cross medal awarded to the Maltese people.

Dr and Mrs Refalo were guests of the Viscount De L'Isle, Lord Gort's maternal grandson.

The plaque was put up by English Heritage at the instigation of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association.
