The Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment has embarked on an educational campaign in favour of the protection of animals and the conservation of Malta's maritime heritage.

For this purpose it has produced two 30-second clips to be broadcast on PBS television over the next two months.

The clip on maritime conservation was filmed in the limits of Dingli Cliffs and is designed to portray the ugliness of carelessness towards our natural environment.

The clip on animal rights was produced in collaboration with the Animal Rights Coalition and harps against the abandonment of animals.

The ministry is preparing other educational campaigns on other issues for the coming months.
