Two arrested after drugs worth €650,000 are found in their car

The car was being driven off the Sicily ferry

A man and a woman are under arrest after they were found in possession of drugs with a street value of €650,000, the police said.

The Montenegrin man and Serbian woman, both aged 27, were stopped while driving off the Sicily ferry.

The car was searched in the police garage and the drugs were found in hidden compartments in the bottom and the rear of the vehicle.

The police said officers found 15 kilos of suspected cannabis resin, three kilos of suspected cocaine and hundreds of suspected ecstasy pills.
