Two to be charged following separate drug finds on same Paceville street

Officers arrest two in separate incidents on Thursday and Friday

Two men were arrested on the same Paceville street in separate police searches on Thursday and Friday, the police have said.

Officers were patrolling Triq San Ġorġ on Thursday when a man in a vehicle raised their suspicions. A search yielded six sachets of suspected cocaine and the man – a 34-year-old from Tarxien – was arrested.

On Friday, officers received a tip-off about alleged drug trafficking in a bar on that same street. Inside, officers searched a man and found three sachets of suspected cocaine and nine sachets of suspected cannabis.

The 36-year-old Somali national was arrested.

Both men are expected to be arraigned before Magistrate Nadia-Helena Vella on Saturday.
