Two Libyans were yesterday remanded in custody after being charged with importing cannabis and associating themselves with others to traffic drugs into Malta.

Murad G.M. Erhuma, 24, and Magdi Ayad Bin El Kayal, 26, of Tripoli were charged by Police Inspector Dennis Theuma with importing some 750 grammes of cannabis resin on Friday.

Both pleaded not guilty.

El Kayal was represented by Dr Leon Bencini and Erhuma chose not to be represented by a lawyer.
