Two German passengers injured after cab driver crashes into monument in Fgura

The cab was driven by a 58-year-old man from Birkirkara

A 19-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were taken to hospital on Monday morning after their cab driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a monument and then crashed into a residence's property in Fgura.

According to police, the accident occurred at 4.15am on Żabbar Road, when the 58-year-old cab driver from Birkirkara lost control of the MG MG4 Electric, hit a monument in the middle of the roundabout and then crashed into the parapet of a residence.

A medical team was called to the scene and the two German passengers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

Later in a statement, the police said the 19-year-old was certified with slight injuries, while the woman was certified with grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
