A man and a woman were injured this morning when a car crashed into the sea in Marsaxlokk.

The incident happened just before 1am at Il-Magħluq f’Marsaxlokk.

The police said they found the Renault Clio upside down in the sea.

It was established that the man, 22, from Zabbar had been driving the car with an 18-year-old woman in the passenger seat,.

The two managed to get out of the vehicle in the sea. They were taken to hospital and found to have suffered slight injuries. 

A boat was slightly damaged when it was hit by the car.
