Two injured in four-vehicle crash

Triq San Andrija - direction towards the Coast Road - was temporarily closed to traffic

Two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash between Pembroke and Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.

The accident was reported at 8.30am on Monday, with police closing off Triq San Andrija (direction towards the Coast Road) to traffic. 

The road was reopened by noon.

Police said that two vehicles were stopped on the road, giving way to a truck headed out towards the main road via a sideroad. 

A fourth vehicle crashed into the car at the back.

The motorists involved in the crash include a 20-year-old woman from Mġarr, who was driving a Mazda Demio and a 25-year-old man from Birkirkara who was driving a Kato crane.

A 50-year-old man from Sliema, who was driving a Ford Transit Connect 50, suffered slight injuries, while a 26-year-old man from St Paul's Bay, who was driving a Toyota Sparky was also injured. His condition is not yet known.
