An elderly couple from Kercem were injured when their car crashed into a bus shelter in Triq il-Qsajjam, Xlendi at 10am.

The police the 83-year-old man, who was driving the Ibiza, lost control when he crashed into the shelter before heading into a low wall. He is in a critical condition.

His 84-year-old wife suffered grievous injuries.
