Two men in their 20s were yesterday charged with the possession of cocaine with intent to sell and one of them was also charged with trafficking in both cocaine and cannabis four years ago.

The men, a 23-year-old from Paola and a 25-year-old from Sta Lucija, appeared before Magistrate Carol Peralta, who ordered a ban on the publication of their names.

They were also charged with the possession of cannabis resin on and before April 11, 1998.

The Paola man alone was charged with trafficking in cocaine and cannabis resin while the Sta Lucija man was also charged with heroin possession.

They pleaded not guilty and were granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500 each.

Police Inspector Neil Harrison prosecuted.

Dr Emmanuel Mallia and Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for the defendants.
