The men were caught in possession of suspected cocaine and cannabis

Two men are being held in custody for suspected drug trafficking after being caught separately in Paceville in possession of substances suspected to be cannabis and cocaine.

The men were arrested on Friday night in separate police operations in the popular clubbing district.

One of the accused, a 32-year-old Jamaican national, was apprehended after police noticed him acting suspiciously, the police said in a statement.

He tried to escape while his bag was being searched and became aggressive during his subsequent arrest, causing the arresting officers light injuries. Eight sachets of alleged cocaine and 20 sachets of suspected cannabis were found in his possession.
