Two motorcyclists grievously injured in separate accidents

The accidents happened in Sta Venera and Naxxar

Two motorcyclists were grievously injured in two separate accidents on Thursday morning in Naxxar and Santa Venera.

In the first accident, which occurred at around 9.15am, a 42-year old motorcyclist riding a Peugeot Django was involved in a collision with a Toyota Auris driven by a 40-year old woman. The accident happened in Triq Andrea Debono in their hometown of Naxxar.

The second accident happened at around 9.50am in Regional Road, Santa Venera where initial police investigations indicated that a Nissan driven by a 71-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay was involved in a collision with a Kawasaki motorcycle ridden by a 35-year-old man from Swieqi.

Both motorcyclists were taken to hospital by ambulance where they were certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
