Two women were rushed to hospital on Saturday morning following a crash between a car and a bus at Pinto Wharf.

The collision, which was reported to the police at around 9.15am, involved a Fiat Punto and Mercedes bus.

While the drivers of the two vehicles – a 36-year-old woman from Valletta and a 39-year-old Ghanaian who lives in Paola – emerged unscathed, their passengers were less fortunate.

A 56-year-old Valletta woman riding in the Fiat was slightly injured, while a 51-year-old woman from Birkirkara aboard the bus was more seriously hurt.

The two injured people were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. The police said they are investigating further.
