The men's basketball national team, under the charge of Joe Galea and Antonio de Torres Moreno, was in Sicily last weekend for short training camp during which two friendly matches were played against Ragusa and Catania.
Malta, in its build-up to the GSSE next month, beat the two Serie C1 sides - Ragusa 83-52 and Catania 66-52.
Ragusa have just completed their league matches. They finished ninth in the standings and just missed the play-offs.
In the previous two clashes, Malta was beaten 70-66 in Sicily but Ragusa lost the return match at Ta' Qali 80-60.
Catania finished stronger than Ragusa in the league. They qualified for the play-offs thanks to their fourth placing in the standings.
