Two female passengers in a car that was involved in an accident in Mdina Road, Attard have sustained injuries but are not in a critical condition.

The police said the accident happended at around 2.50 p.m. when a Maruti driven by a 22 year-old man from Zejtun was hit on the back by a Pajero, driven by a 45-year-old man from Attard. The police said it seemed the accident happened as the Maruti was going to turn to Tumas Chetcuti street.

The 21- and 22-year-old female passengers, both from Rabat, were in the Maruti. They had to be taken out of the wreckage by Civil Protection Department personnel.

The drivers were not injured.
