The UHM complained today that emergency exits were found padlocked this morning when a small fire broke out at Floriana health centre.

The blaze was quickly controlled and no one was hurt.

The union noted that while everyone was evacuated, podiatrists were, inexplicably, still kept inside.

The union also noted that the place lacks a fire alarm.

It urged the authorities to take the necessary measures for health and safety rules to be observed.
