The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has instructed its members in Gozo not to accept orders or sign inspectorate documents when they were asked to do so by persons who were of an inferior grade.

The union expained that the Gozo Ministry recently set up an inspectorate to carry out inspections of government departments.

The plan was for the inspectorate to be staffed by personnel of various grades, but in fact the inspections were being made by persons in the grade of general hand.

As a result, persons of inferior grade were carrying out inspections and issuing orders to people having higher seniority.

The union said this situation was unacceptable and it was insisting that the agreement reached on the composition of the inspectorate should be respected.
