The health services section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin has directed cleaners within the Health Division to take partial industrial action.

The union said the issue was over a shortage of cleaners in the sector which was causing hardship to the workers and hindering them in their duties.

The union said the situation was no longer acceptable and cleaners would therefore not be collecting or wiping objects used to serve food.

The directive also bars cleaners from washing beds, bed-side tables and lockers.

The union insisted it was not prepared to allow the cleaners to be exploited any longer.
