Unbearable noise and dangerous flying

Once more this year we were regaled with an entertaining airshow. Like many other enthusiasts, I look forward to this show and enjoy every bit of it. Every bit, except for the ear-splitting noise of certain aircraft flying dangerously low over our village.

Before and during the airshow, some of these aircraft flew low at various times, disturbing the peace of Luqa village and its surroundings. Both man and animal had to suffer the unbearable noise with all the potential consequences. The sick, especially, had to endure this hazard and both babies and animals must have suffered the most.

I cannot understand why the authorities give permission for these dangerous flights every year which, apart from the harmful noise, can cause a horrible tragedy if - God forbid - one were to fall on any part of the village. I am sure that many other people feel that this nuisance should stop but, as usual in Malta, the citizen is rarely heard and heeded.

One final point: Why do the local council and the MPs of both parties who represent Luqa not use their influence with the authorities to stop this yearly noisy and dangerous flying? Or do they not feel that this is harmful and dangerous?
