Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi asked the transport minister in parliament yesterday whether an underground railway system could be contemplated in view of the increased traffic volume, possibly using EU funds.

Replying, Transport Minister Censu Galea said that the Transport Authority was continuously studying how to improve transport systems. Underground transport systems cost millions of liri to build and millions to maintain.
