A moderate underwater earthquake near southern Greece on Tuesday night was felt in different areas of Malta, including Siggiewi and Naxxar.

Seismologist Pauline Galea said the tremor, registering 5.3 on the Richter scale, was recorded at Wied Dalam Station.

The earthquake took place at 11 p.m. local time.
