Though I personally do not have faith in internal inquiries as they involve persons who find it hard to find against their fellow worker, I agree with recent letters by Charles Camilleri and Yves Calì that too much time has elapsed since the Central Bank undertook to hold an inquiry about an alleged leak.

This delay is harming the reputation of the Bank and that of the minister who made the accusation. So it is in the interests of all concerned that the findings should be made public to stop the ongoing gossiping.

I call on the Bank to stop this procrastination and publish the result as soon as possible. This is how matters are handled by serious institutions. Keeping things under the carpet is not an honourable thing to do.
