The construction of the road leading to the church in San Lawrenz started about three years ago and is still unfinished. Manholes are about four centimetres above the road surface with vehicles zigzagging around them. No work has been done on the first stretch of about 200 metres and this part has been left in a deplorable and shameful state with no regard for anybody who uses it.

It is truly an embarrassment, as all vehicles including tourist buses have to pass through this road on their way to Dwejra.

This road was supposed to have been reconstructed with EU funds and was expected to have been completed within a certain timeframe.

As this timeframe has not been kept, one wonders whether the EU funds are still available or whether this road will ever be completed.
