Unfounded complaints against cats
While, sadly, we hear every day of cases of cruelty to animals, there also is a finer cruelty expressed with the pen towards our feline friends who only give us love and loyalty and make us better people and the world a better place! A public garden...

A public garden without cats, indeed a world and a life without cats, would be much the less for it. Those writing against innocent cats whose only defence are people like me, should be the first to learn, instead of hiding behind hypocritical concerns which conceal a cruelty towards animals.
So what are the usual concerns of these people? The accusations are always the same! They accuse cats of making noise. I beg to differ, for comparing cat sounds to the loud shouting and swearing of people, the loud car horns and screeching of tyres and the loud disco music coming out of homes and cars, well, the comparison holds no water!
Another accusation is that cats are dirty. Again, this holds no water, since cats are among the cleanest animals, burying what they do, and if we compare this to the dirt left by people who treat public gardens and spaces like dustbins, throwing everything out at leisure and expecting public employees to pick everything up at a moment's notice, then comparing and accusing the cats makes no sense!
Unless I am mistaken, all living creatures must eat, so complaining about leaving food for cats does not follow, since these poor, often starving, cats eat the food immediately and if a cat seeks shelter what is wrong with that?
Thank God there a few of us offer cats the love, food and shelter they deserve as much as any person, for are we not all God's creatures?
About dangers to children, the accusations are groundless since cats are among the most playful and loving creatures. We are here talking about cats, not wild tigers!
A final point to people who attack our stray feline friends and say they are all over the place. If there were more people like us who gave a home to a cat, more people who helped out with admirable cat groups who neuter, care for and feed our feline friends, and fewer heartless people who throw out cats from their homes, then indeed there would be fewer strays.
