The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has criticised the Local Councils Association for failing to implement a collective agreement which provides for extending the three-year contracts of executive secretaries by a further 12 months.

The union said Home Affairs and Justice Minister Tonio Borg failed to amend a section of the Local Councils Act to bring it in line with the agreement.

The UHM said an amendment in the contract period of the executive secretaries had not yet been made.
