The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin has called off industrial action at the Medicines Authority after an agreement was reached over a collective agreement during a meeting held yesterday.
Joseph Bonello, secretary of the UĦM's health section, said the union and the authority had ironed out a number of points which will now be presented to the employees before the collective agreement is signed.
On Wednesday evening, the UĦM said it had ordered industrial action because management had not replied to its proposals even though the union had been asking for them for several months.
Employees had been asked not to carry out work connected with the processing of applications for the registration of medicines, inspection and licensing of pharmacies and distribution of medicine.
