The University Music Association (UMA) was set up in recent years by University Students then pursuing the Music Studies course. Since its inception, the UMA has done its utmost to achieve the aims of the association. It has organised several concerts for university students and staff in the junior common room to increase the awareness of music on campus. A variety of genres of music featured during these concerts, ranging from rock to classical and from vocal to instrumental music. Apart from organising academic and social activities, the UMA has collaborated with other university organisations such as KSU, the Mediterranean Institute and the Precincts Office in organising events open to the general public.

The association is also concerned with matters that involve its members following the Music Studies courses of the Mediterranean Institute. Efforts are made to improve the courses and to voice the requirements of music students. Students pursuing music courses at the University are automatically registered as members of the UMA Membership is however not restricted to this category alone, it is open to all students, academic and administrative or technical staff. The motto of the association is, per musicam vivimus.
