Ursuline Sisters’ new service at Ta’ Pinu
The newly formed community consists of four sisters
The simple yet powerful word ‘come’ became the source of inspiration and courage for the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters to approach Bishop Anton Teuma with a request to form a new community at Ta’ Pinu. The request was formally made on September 9, 2024. Just over a year later, the Ursuline Sisters are now present at Ta’ Pinu sanctuary, serving pilgrims who visit this sacred shrine.
The newly formed community consists of four sisters, united in their desire to be guided by the words of the Blessed Virgin Mary: “Here I am, the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to your word.”
In keeping with the vision of their founder, the Servant of God Isidor Formosa – “Do good among all” – the sisters are committed to sharing this goodness, which they understand as the very presence of God, with all who enter the sanctuary.
Their mission is expressed with profound simplicity: God loves you, whoever you are. Through Mary, this message of divine love becomes tangible. The sisters describe Mary as the “treasurer of all God’s graces”, ever ready to welcome and intercede for those who turn to her. They recall her maternal invitation:
“Come, you who are burdened;
“Come, you who are alone, and find comfort at your Mother’s feet;
“Come, you who are troubled; lay your worries before your Mother;
“Come, you who seek true joy and do not know where to turn – I will lead you to Jesus, the fullness of joy.”
Sisters Magdalene, Francesca, Letizia and Josette express their deep gratitude for the grace of being called to serve in this holy place. “We will pray with you, we will pray for you, we will praise God with you and we will listen to you. Together, let us become the family of Mary. Come to Mary!”
